Our 3rd Phenomwellversary

Today marks the end of PhenomWell’s 3rd year in business. We are very grateful to the support the community has shown our little store. It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve you. Thank you.

These have been an eventful three years for all small businesses, including stores like ours. Like many industries, the hemp industry, which is still very new, has changed a lot — and seems to have overcome some of the stigma in that time.

While the industry has grown, so have we at PhenomWell. When we first opened, we named the store after the one cannabinoid we had on our shelves: CBD.

Since then, labs continue to develop ways to extract and convert cannabinoids from the federally legal plant (containing less that .03% Delta-9 THC), and use those cannabinoids in new and creative ways that comply with a fairly restrictive law.

Things have changed fast. We now have products containing not only CBD, but CBN, CBG, HHC, and compliant THC such Delta-9, Delta-8, THCV, THC-o, and combinations thereof.

One thing is certain. Things will continue to change. The authors of the 2018 Farm Bill that federally legalized hemp probably did not fully expect the industry that has emerged. The Farm Bill expires in 2023, and it’s very likely the new one will impact the farming of hemp, as well as the extraction and production of hemp products. Other laws could change on the state or federal level that expand or change the industry.

So we know things will change, but we don’t know how.

In the meantime, it is our mission to fully serve our customers by sourcing high quality products and communicating about those products in a responsible way.
