How to Choose the Right THCA Flower (Without Overthinking It)
We get a lot of great questions in the store about choosing THCA flower. People often want a โright answer,โ but in practice, itโs more about understanding a few basics and trusting your preferences.
Hereโs a simple, honest way to think about it.
1. THCA percentage
Itโs natural to look at the number first. Higher percentages often feel like they should be stronger, and once you get into the high-20s and above, most flower is already quite potent.
At that point, the difference between 29% and 30% is usually pretty small in real-world use. Lab results are also averages taken from a sample, not a reading of every single bud in the jar. Potency can vary slightly from plant to plant and even within the same batch.
The percentage is a useful guideโbut itโs not the whole story.
2. Indica, sativa, or hybrid
We know people care about this, and we try to meet that demand. The reality is that most modern flower is hybrid, and classifications arenโt always consistent. Youโll sometimes see the same strain described differently on different websites or lab reports.
When we have clearly indica-leaning or sativa-leaning strains, we label them so you can spot them easily. Other times, the best flower available simply doesnโt fit neatly into one category.
Many regulars skip the label entirely and ask for the best flower in the price range they wantโand that approach often leads to the happiest results.
3. Terpenes: taste and smell
A lot of people arenโt looking for a specific terpene by name. Instead, theyโre guided by aroma and flavor.
Everyoneโs nose is different. What smells amazing to one person might not appeal to another. Thatโs one reason we keep display jars availableโso you can see and smell the flower before deciding.
4. Bud structure and appearance
Color, density, and structure vary widely from strain to strain and batch to batch. Some people prefer large, light-green buds. Others like darker, denser flower.
Thereโs no single โrightโ lookโjust what appeals to you.
At the end of the day, we focus on bringing in the best flower we can in our two price tiers, even when the lineup doesnโt break perfectly into indica and sativa boxes.
If you ever want help choosing, just ask. Thatโs what weโre here for.
